Who we are

For purposes of applicable data protection laws, Kigen Technologies is the controller of personal information processed in connection with the Site and Services. Kigen Technologies is based in Malta at 34, Triq Wied Ghomor, San ġiljan, STJ 2043, Malta. Mytheertha is a brand operated by Kigen Technologies; it is not a separate legal entity.

1. Information you provide

We collect: contact information (name, email address, phone number) when you contact us or submit a service inquiry; ritual and lineage information (gotra, nakshatra, sampradaya, family deity, names of individuals in whose name rituals are to be performed) when using Sevaka; pilgrimage and travel details when booking pilgrimage services; questions and information you share when using the Acharya AI advisory service; and billing information needed to invoice and receive payment. Payment card information is processed by third-party payment processors and is not stored by us.

2. Information collected automatically

We collect usage data including IP address, browser type, device information, referring/exit pages, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from IP. We may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functions, analytics, and preferences. You can manage cookies through browser settings and, where applicable, our cookie controls.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to respond to inquiries, arrange rituals at temples in your name or in the name of individuals you designate, coordinate pilgrimage planning and darshan bookings, provide and improve Acharya advisory responses, send administrative messages, send marketing communications where permitted by law (you can opt out at any time), maintain site security and prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations. We treat ritual and lineage information with particular care — it is used solely to perform the Services you request and is not shared for advertising or commercial profiling purposes.

4. Legal bases for processing (UK/EU/Malta)

Where UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or applicable Maltese data protection law applies, we rely on: Contract (processing needed to perform a Service Agreement); Legitimate Interests (operating and improving the Site, responding to inquiries, preventing fraud), balanced against your rights; Consent (where required for cookies, marketing, or the processing of sensitive data such as religious information); and Legal Obligation (processing required to comply with applicable laws).

5. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it: with temple partners and priests when arranging a ritual on your behalf (name, gotra, nakshatra are shared as required to perform the service); with service providers who help us operate the Site and deliver Services (hosting, email, analytics, payment processors, logistics partners), subject to contractual confidentiality obligations; with professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, insurers) where necessary; for legal purposes to comply with laws or protect our rights; in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition; or with your direction or consent.

6. International data transfers

Kigen Technologies is based in Malta. Your information may be processed in Malta or other jurisdictions. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Ritual and lineage information is retained for the period of the service relationship and as required for any applicable legal retention period thereafter.

8. Your rights and choices

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information; request restriction of processing or object to processing; request data portability; or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@mytheertha.com. If you are in Malta, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC). If you are in the EEA, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Cookies and tracking

We may use cookies and similar technologies for essential functions, analytics, and preferences. Where required by law, we will request your consent for non-essential cookies. You can control cookies via your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect Site functionality.

10. Third-party links

The Site may link to or embed third-party content. Those third parties may collect information directly from you and set cookies. Their use of your information is governed by their own policies.

11. Children's privacy

The Site and Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18.

12. Changes to this policy
